Festival Nail Art Abstract Mani
The warm season brings flowers, pool parties and… music festivals! Music is such a huge part of my life that I used to spend so much time agonizing about the right outfit for music festivals – now I added nails to getting festival-ready!
However, I do come up with the best ideas when I free my mind and just let go. Today I’ll show you my festival nails, joyful, happy, colorful and bright! My creativity runs wild and free, how’s yours?
Coachella’s second weekend is happening and I refuse to start the line-up discussion or else we’d only talk music and no nails for days! So if you’re going, give this manicure a try, you might find they’re the perfect way to accessorize your outfit!

I started with a neutral, semi-opaque base on the pink side: OPI’s Step Right Up is my go-to polish whenever I want to layer but also to make the natural nail part of the manicure. I have this amazing set of mini-neons a friend gifted to me when I was just building up a lacquer stash. And although they’re tiny, I use them to create some of craziest, most unexpected combos. Like this – all the weight of this abstract nail art hangs on these teeny bottles of neon paints!

The beauty of abstract painting is the forgiving aesthetic and the creative freedom it allows. Pick beautiful colors, brush them on the nail in big strokes – make sure your brush isn’t loaded with lacquer, you want to show the strokes on the nail to enhance the artistic feel. Don’t worry if you don’t get it right the very first time, practice a bit until you find the right amount of polish for the right amount of strokes. Have fun and don’t cover the entire nail with color!
I topped my abstract nail art with matte topcoat to take the shine away and enhance the colors: did you notice how neons pop up when they’re not shining? Matte topcoats are magical sometimes. Throw your hands in the air and feel the music, have fun!
