Easy Abstract Christmas Glitter Nails
Green and red, in my head, are the epitome of Christmas colors in my head. And although I love colorful decorations and sparkly ornaments, red and green are the king and queen of Xmas Colorland!
That being said, in my defense, I rounded two red and green glitter polishes – absolutely nameless, the kind you pick up in a nameless dollar-like store. But they do the job, really! Don’t dismiss cheap polishes (like this one), for the very rare instances I need them do, they stand up to the creative test! I do keep my base on the posh side, though – with OPI. Yes, in case you were wondering, it is, indeed, Taupless Beach. Again!
The thing is, you see, I’m not a girl who spends a lot of money on nail polishes. Not that I wouldn’t want it – on the contrary! But because my nail polish budget is on the tight side, always. Something tells me you know what I mean. Enough about budget, but do remember that cheap polish is sometimes good! Take for instance this Flormar topper – over (one coat of) OPI’s Taupeless Beach produces the most amazing, magical frosting effect!

The ‘art’ itself isn’t much – just taking drops or brush strokes, randomly placing them on the nail to create whatever effect you want – an ombre or just an abstract mélange of red and green. I tried this and that and settled for green on the middle and red on the sides, mixing the colors here and there.

I have absolutely no artistic hallucinations about this type of nail art. The colors, the festive occasion, however, make this a forgiving nailart that you can absolutely put together while wearing a neutral color and stepping out of the kitchen after a long day’s work, for a yummy Christmas dinner! Cover the tips with glitter, red and green, Holidays cheerful colors, smile and feel good, your nails will follow! Happy Holidays! Keep it simple, keep it happy!
