Cancer Awareness Pink Nails: Easiest Dotticure!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Liver Cancer Awareness Month. Every month there’s an awareness campaign for different types of Cancer (except December which belongs to Santa more than Cancer -_- ).
This month, I had a dear friend’s father losing his fight with Cancer and I also found out about someone’s husband who was diagnosed with Cancer too (and is now undergoing chemo) and it reminded me a lot of the struggle my Mother went through a couple of years ago when she undergo her first breast surgery. I decided it was time I joined the Cancer Awareness train with a pink manicure!

This one is special, though! Inspired by my friend’s father passing (and the special yellow striped bird guest) and in support for Maria ‘SoNailicious’ who is so strong and brave during this tremendously difficult period in her husband’s, Joseph’s life, several nailistas recreated Maria’s nail designs. So did I. I chose a simple dotticure I really fell for: its simplicity, its appeal are undeniable and can be done by anyone with no extra painting skills!

My spin on Maria’s dotticure was switching the black and white for yellow and green. Why? Because my Mother keeps her Cancer under control through a special diet with mainly raw foods and since I know firsthand it works, I support the raw diet for all Cancer patients out there struggling for their lives!
To me, green and yellow are uplifting shades of spring, calling out for a new beginning, an awakening of life to yet another glorious cycle. I welcome that and I hope and wish that all who are struggling now will open their hearts to the world, to receive the love we’re offering, the prayers we’re whispering and the positive vibes we’re all sending their way! Keep strong, there is still hope!

(there’s not much to say about the nails per se: on a pink base – Zoya Sweet – I applied dots in two alternative colors green and yellow with either a dotting tool or directly with the bottle brush. No topcoat needed – I actually like the dots to stand out, like tiny buds, strong, bursting to life!)
