September Nails: Sunny Gradient Mani
The first weekend from the first month of this year’s fall season and my first nails story after a long time. It’s a happy mani, as I am for being back on the nails stories track. I missed this. I missed you! ^_^
Yellow! A sunny manicure to welcome fall. I hope it’s going to be a sweet, long and warm autumnal season – I’m never ready for fall, I’m such a summer child, always dreaming for an endless summer -_^ . That’s maybe the reason why I chose a bright happy manicure to start the fall nails season.

I did use a white foundation (OPI’s Alpine Snow) – although not visible in the images, I like the white under yellow as it really brightens the shade. So if you’re after that effect, do count more time for drying: the base coat (I use Orly’s Bonder), the white coat and then two coats of OPI’s yellow Just Can’t Cope Acabana followed by an extensive Instagram session for drying the nails.

After all those coats, I added extra coats with Orly’s Festival Lights, a see-through peachy polish I have for a long time and yet I can’t find a suitable mani for it. You can paint the pinkie with the orangey polish without having the yellow base but I only had the gradient idea after painting my nails yellow, so I kinda improvised as I went.
Two or three coats later, the pinkie nail finger is orange enough. Enter the ring finger nail where I only added a single coat of the Orly Festival Lights polish.
For the middle finger and the index nails I combined the Orly Festival Lights with OPI’s I just can’t cope-acabana as to obtain a gradient-suitable color (you can find a more in-depth explanation of this kind of gradient manicure here).
With just two nail polishes and minimum effort (and skills) you can paint your nails in this gorgeous sunny gradient concoction ready for a warm fall debut! I wish you a wonderful autumn, let’s paint those nails!
Nails for rainy days: easy and fun!
(sorry for the long absence, I’ve had a hard time dealing with an autoimmune disorder and the troubles it caused for my nails – constant splitting and dry, brittle nails resulting in permanent nubs)
