Rose Gold Gradient Nails

By  |  0 Comments

Heya lovelies! I’m still keeping up with my fall resolution so here I am with a new set of nails for your eyes to see and for me to talk about -_^ – you’ll notice that staying at home with four kiddos makes me very social online … I wonder why! lol!

Yesterday the new iPhone was launched and that gave me a sweet idea for a new manicure – you know how everyone and their dog is dying for that rose gold color lately? What? Don’t tell me your hairstylist didn’t warn you about rose gold being the new it color this fall? Pfff! Well, yeah, rose gold is a biiiig deal this year! And today I tried my hand at a rose gold gradient! What do you think?

My biggest challenge was finding the right colors to morph together and keep the rose-gold-silver impression. I used OPI’s Dulce de Leche – which has a thick, very consistent formula and really covers the nail and I needed something more translucent that’s why I went for the silver gradient, to lighten the Dulce de Leche.

You know the gradient drill – you’ve seen me doing it so many times before! What you might not know is that you can always replace a gradient – especially with metallics, shimmers and micro glitters – with a dry brush. A repeated dry brush can give you the same result as a sponge gradient! Just saying…

what you see on my nails is a Dulce de Leche as a base and then some Flormar shimmers on top – either sponged over or dry brushed. I sealed the deal with clear topcoat and wandered on Instagram, waiting for it to dry (are we already connected on Instagram? if not, don’t wait any longer – let’s catch up – follow my IG here).

I didn’t wait too long as I really wanted to do some gold rose tassels to hang in the home office, to make it more festive.. So here’s what I was doing while waiting for my rose gold gradient to dry: coffee, Instagram and tassels! Don’t do what I did or else you’ll end up patching your newly painted nails. Like I do now.
